REBECCA LAUBE-POHTO

Rebecca Laube-Pohto is a dance artist and improviser based between Finland and Brussels, Belgium.

Rebecca Laube-Pohto is a Finnish dance artist, choreographer, and educator based in Central Finland. Her practice is rooted in physicality, presence, and real-time composition, shaped by international studies and collaborations, and guided by a deep interest in cultural exchange and embodied research.

As the co-founder and artistic director of Keskellä Collective, Rebecca fosters collaborative environments that support interdisciplinary exploration. She works in close collaboration with different artists, actively contributing to the artistic community. Her current interests include body memory, the ocean as metaphor and space, and choreography emerging from immediacy and the body’s interaction with landscape and others.

She has collaborated with choreographers such as Sari Palmgren, Yasen Vasilev, Terhi Kuokkanen (Off/Balance), and Mirva Mäkinen. Recent works include works e.g. for stage, for site specific locations and multiple improvised performances. Her work has been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation (Central Finland) and Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
